Oracle OpenWorld: Review

Did you enjoy OpenWorld?  Did you get to hit every session you wanted?  Did you not get to go this year?  You are all in luck tonight because I bring you a round up of OpenWorld!  Want to find people that were there attending or that were presenting?  Hit up the #OOW14 stream on Twitter!  Speaking of Twitter, are you following @oracleopenworld?  Did you get to see all the keynotes?  What about the presentations which are already available online?  Have you signed up to make sure you are notified when the Call for Proposals opens next year?

Weeklong Learning: E42014

No, that is not a misprint.  I said weekLONG learning.  Why?  Because you should be following Enkitec's E4 conference on Twitter via the hashtag #E42014 if you can't make it in person or be a virtual attendant.  With such good prices, I think this conference is going to be in my personal budget for next year just in case I find myself free around this time next year because that is a GREAT value for all of what you can learn about Exadata here.

Conference reminders!

Don't forget to check Twitter for the hashtag #C14LV or click here for the Twitter link to keep up with this year's Collaborate conference from OAUG!

Looking to the future, the call for proposals deadline for Oracle Open World this year is fast approaching on April 15th so you only have a few more days to get your abstracts polished and submitted!

Participating in my first Twitter live-chat

During the excellent Training Day from Tanel Poder, I had another opportunity to learn by participating in my first Twitter live-chat!  Hosted by Pete Finnigan, this live chat was focused on data security and you can read all about it (including my questions that were answered) by searching for the tag #datachat or click here for the mobile Twitter link.  This was really fun to do, and I did get a lot out of it too, so I think I'll try to get in on these types of events in the future when they fit my interests.  Heck, maybe someday I will actually host one!  :}

Thursday Twitter!

Interrupting our 12c weeklong coverage, I introduce a new feature where I share 5 tweets that I've favorited:

https://twitter.com/martindba/status/375915850198298625 - Martin Bach helps show us some scripts from Enkitec.

https://twitter.com/dbakevlar/status/374971089530523648 - Kellyn Pot'Vin reminds us to think about how our SQL profiles on a regular basis, and makes me think about how to alert based on it.

Now on Twitter!

In a departure from a very technical posting week, I wanted you let you know that I'm now a part of the Twitterverse!  I created the account a few weeks ago, and started tweeting while at the conference, but I thought I'd just make sure you knew and were up to speed if you had missed it.  You can find me @TheOracleEMT and while I'll start following people next week you can always take this chance to follow me so you can stay up to date!  Well, that is after I find out why LinkedIn isn't always posting to Twitter and THEN you can be completely up to date.  :}
