R12 Workflow: Automated replies give "Client was not authenticated" errors

On R12.1.3 and R12.1 "Automatic Reply To Unsolicited Mail shows erros 530 5.7.1 Client was not authenticated" from MOS document ID 1991613.1 indicates this can be resolved with a patch but it seems like the root cause is when the SMTP server gets changed!

R12 Purchasing: Approval of PO with AME ends in ORA-00060 error

If you are on R12.1.3 or R12.2 make sure that you bone up on MOS article "When approving a Purchase Order using AME, the Approval Workflow completes with ORA-00060 and "ECX_PROGRAM_EXIT_EMBD" errors" from note ID 1585839.1 as a certain Transmission Method can cause an ORA-00060 error to happen in the AME Workflow.

Regardless of what EBS version you are on, you can follow the directions in MOS article "How to obtain Java Error Stack when configuring Workfow Notification Mailer using OAM" from note ID 1348284.1 and then even extend it further by designing some automation around the log files if you want to leave the logging enabled so you can proactively look for problems.

R12.2.3: Workflow Java Deferred Listener down due to maximum open cursors

Planning for the future, I am bookmarking article "R12.2: Workflow Java Deferred Listener Goes with java.sql.SQLException: ORA-01000 ,WF_EVENT_OJMSTEXT_QH.ENQUEUE on Maximum Open Cursor" in MOS via ID 1966450.1 so I can make sure to get this problem into our testing suite before we are ready to upgrade onto R12.2.3!  Also, I am going to be using the script provided so I can start looking for open cursors in our system as I never knew about the v$open_cursor table until now!

R12.1.3: Workflow error after RPC2

In My Oracle Support document "You Have Encountered An Error In The Worklist Notifications" from note ID 1946243.1 we learn that after applying Recommended Patch Collection 2 (and the prerequisites) an error message including "OANullDBTransactionImpl cannot be cast" is encountered.  What is the problem here?  It seems that this is related to a browser issue, so plan ahead now for when you have to apply RPC2.
