COLLABORATE17: Accepted!

This year I had a lot going on at COLLABORATE16, and next year seems to be going the same way as my new presentation that was for the ConnectionPoint - Apps Tech conference was selected for COLLABORATE17!  OAUG's COLLABORATE conferences are always jam-packed with information and great networking opportunities so make sure to check out the registration page and sign up before the rates change!!

OOW16 Rejection!

In past years I have been rejected by the Oracle OpenWorld, and last year I was positive I would get selected, but this year I was even MORE positive I would get selected yet it was not to be!  Maybe next year, since I just gave my AppsTech presentation, which was really well received and pushed me a bit so if I add some more polish it I could get accepted for OOW17!!

Register for OAUG's Connection Point - AppsTech conference today!

I may have mentioned that I am presenting at OAUG's Connection Point - AppsTech conference, and it is never too late to register for it!  This will be an online only conference so you do not need to travel at all, and you can check out the great lineup for the event too!!

Oracle OpenWorld 15: Rejected!

While I may have been rejected for OOW last year, this year I thought for SURE I would get in this year!  Well, it was not to be!  What seems to be different this year is how many other people have been rejected as well, which from what the grapevine says is, because the Moscone Center is being renovated and not 100% completed yet so the conference is going to be smaller than it has in years!  Wondering who else got rejected?  Click on #TeamRejectedByOracleOpenWorld on Twitter and then follow some of these people, because there are a lot of Oracle ACE Directors, Presidents of companies or Oracle User groups which have been rejected and maybe you can get something positive out of this!

Thursday Twitter - 3/12/15

Returning to Twitter this week, I am changing up the format and instead of several different categories I am going to focus on just one: Conferences.

RMOUG:  Of course, we cannot forget about the awesome Training Days conference from the Rocky Mountain group and you can still catch up on everything with #TD2015!

HOTSOS:  While I did not get to go this year, it was still good to follow along with #HotSym15 attendees and presenters!

OUGN:  Ever wonder what it would be like joining an Oracle conference on a boat?  Follow along with #OUGN15 for a Norwegian conference cruise!!

UTOUG:  Get a lot of information flowing out of the Utah group's own Training Days which is also going on right now and can be found at #UTOUGTD15!

OAUG:  Join in with the #C15LV hashtag to connect with thousands of Oracle users leading up to and during COLLABORATE!

GLOC:  Prepare to follow along with the Great Lakes conference by adding #GLOC15 to your list!

Was there a recent conference that I missed?  Let me know in the comments!

Oracle HCM World Early Bird pricing ends 1/12

Not wanting to leave out any potential conferences that people out there reading the blog may want to visit, I want to make sure that you do not miss the Oracle HCM World conference!  Even though the conference is in March, the Early Bird rate ends on January 12th so if you have been thinking about attending there is no time like this weekend to actually sign up for the conference!

A few months ago I wrote about submitting abstracts for OAUG's COLLABORATE 15 conference and today I received notification for one of my abstracts being accepted!!  Now the clock is ticking for me to flesh out my presentation and start work on the whitepaper, but I have a whole three months to get it done so I will be seeing you in April at the Mandalay Bay!  Get in on the early bird pricing for the conference and the hotels as well!

RMOUG 2015: Presenting!

Last month I let you know about the RMOUG abstracts being open and today I received news that I was accepted to speak there as my first event of 2015!  You can check out the presentations that will be at the event and after that visit the registration page to sign up now to save over $100 on early bird pricing.  Where else can you get two and a half days of premium Oracle technical content for less than $600, and if you sign up now it's just over $400 for a real steal!

I hope to see you there in February!

Conference Update: OAUG Connection Point - AppsTech 2014

Last year I was lucky enough to be selected to speak at the inaugural OAUG Connection Point - AppsTech conference in Pittsburgh.  This year?  I submitted several abstracts and it's déjà vu all over again, as I've been selected to speak at the conference this year!!  I hope to see you there in July, for what is sure to be another great line up of speakers and information for the attendees!  I'll continue to share with you about the conference as we get closer to the date, but right now I'm on Cloud 9.  :}

5/6 EDIT:  Added links and labels to the post and minor change to the conference name as "Connection Point" is correct but "ConnectionPoint" is not.  I'm picky, sue me!

Hotsos Symposium 14: Early Bird Pricing Ends!

This week ends the early bird pricing for the only conference cool enough to have me present for them this year!  I've already setup my travel plans, signed up for my badge, and am finalizing my presentation to submit this week and then the countdown begins!  If you can't sign up this week, don't worry you can sign up anytime before the Symposium starts on March 2nd.

Hope to see you there!

Hotsos Symposium 2014: Call to arms!

I can realistically say that if I didn't attend the Hotsos Symposium in 2012, I wouldn't be here where I am today with being able to give a presentation to OAUG or celebrating a year of blogging.  That is why I'm happy to help announce that the Hotsos Symposium 2014 call for papers has been opened!  I'll update this post when the Hotsos blog shares this information too, but as they haven't done so yet consider this breaking news!

I'm really tempted to submit an abstract to them again, so I'm sure I'll share that with you too when I do it!

LA Tour 2013!

No, I'm not touring Los Angeles, and as a matter of fact this isn't about me at all.  Shocking huh?  Well since the blog is pretty much global at this point, I thought it'd be polite to share out a tour Oracle is doing of Latin America.  You don't need to be able to read Spanish or Portuguese to click on the details for the tour, and see some very high profile individuals within the community have been invited on the OTN tour.  If you are in the Latin America region at that time it may be worth your time to check out!

Enkitec Extreme Exadata Expo: E4!

I had the chance to hear from several Enkitec members last year at the Hotsos conference and came away really impressed with their technical know-how and specific knowledge of Exadata enough that some of them have made it into my blog roll.  While I haven't had the chance to go to E4 as of yet, I was looking forward to seeing who was going to be part of the conference and Kerry Osborne recently announced it on his blog and it's a real who's who list!  Maybe I'll do the virtual option.....

I'll see you in Pittsburgh!

You may have noticed a lack of activity for a few days on the site, and that's because I've been accepted to present at the OAUG Connection Point conference at the end of July!!  I'm really excited to get my feet wet by going outside my comfort zone and do a professional presentation, and now that I have something like 80-85% of the presentation and whitepaper done I'll have some time to return to updating the blog on a more regular basis.
