Weekend Learning: Customizing EBS logon behavior

Something that we take for granted is logging into the EBS application, but have you ever been curious about the how of it?  I never thought about it until I read the MOS article "How to Customize Logon Behavior" found by note ID 30860.1 and learned about the logon trigger which passes username and password information from the application server to the database!
